I believe all children have a natural connection to music: passionate, uninhibited, and curious. It is my privilege to open the world of music to the youngest learners! Having a duel background in Early Childhood Education (BA, 2017) and Music Performance (MM, 2025) uniquely empowers me to bring young children into musical experiences with thoughtfulness and authenticity.
In my classes, we build community through song, movement, storytelling, and listening. We express ourselves by making music, with our voices, bodies, instruments, and writings. We read about famous musicians and we learn about music from around the world by listening to and watching live performances, making media an active part of our learning. We share ideas, learn to appreciate others', and work together to be creative. Music class is inspiring and fun! I am so grateful for each day that I get to experience the joy of music with children at the most imaginative, joyful, and creative time in their lives.
I work with early childhood learning centers based in San Francisco, primarily on the south end of the city. Classes are scheduled for weekly instruction throughout your school's academic year and can continue through the summer, schedule-permitting. I teach whole-group and small-group classes depending on your school's needs, and I am comfortable working with same-aged or mixed-aged groups. I have experience working in Montessori and Reggio Emilia-inspired schools, and regularly take professional development courses, such as Orff trainings and more. I have Infant/Toddler credits, Child Development Permit (Site Supervisor) and CPR/First Aid certification. I also carry liability insurance for Tessa Moore Music.
If you are interested in booking early childhood music classes with me, please reach out to tessamooremusic@gmail.com. Let me know a little bit about your school, what you are looking for, and approximately what time slots you're hoping to book.
Note: My work is solely in the educational setting. I do not book private group classes or do children's parties. Additionally, I am not enrolling private students nor keeping a waitlist. For inquiries like these, I recommend looking into some of the wonderful music shops and organizations the city has to offer.
This is a service I offer new clients, but any school interested in building a high-quality music inventory can book this service, whether or not we have an ongoing music class agreement. An instrument-purchasing consultation from me ensures the very best materials are making their way into your classroom, thoughtfully curated for your space, your group, and your goals. I will visit your facility to make assessments, then follow up with my recommendations. Schools have appreciated this service immensely as I have guided them to quality materials that are long-lasting and developmentally appropriate.

"Music Teacher Extraordinaire. When I was searching for a music teacher for my Montessori school, I reached out to the Directors’ group for recommendations. One school raved about Tessa—and after meeting her, I knew she was the perfect fit.
Tessa’s deep knowledge of music and her ability to translate its meaning to children aged 3 to 6 align beautifully with our Montessori approach. She teaches the language of music, rhythm, notation, and diversity through song and imaginative, hands-on activities. Her lessons are not just musical; they’re magical.
Children sing, listen, and move, then draw musical notes and create scribbled melodies with pencils and paper, expressing what they've absorbed in their own delightful way. Tessa’s storytelling draws them in, creating a joyful space where creativity flourishes. Each session with her is a window into the children’s capacity to learn, reflect, and share, in line with the Montessori vision.
She is an incredible guide, and I feel grateful to have her share music with our community."
